The Church of England has formally acknowledged us as a religious Anglican dispersed Order of ordained and lay men,
single, celibate, and married.
We endeavour to live according to the Rule of
Saint Benedict as expressed in the reformed (Trappist Cistercian)
tradition of Cīteaux, supported by our own short Rule, as set out in our Governing
Men who are communicant members of the Anglican Church, and who live within the jurisdiction of a Diocese in Great Britain (i.e., England, Scotland, or Wales) are invited to discern a vocation with us. All applicants must be prepared to answer some initial questions, and may be asked to meet with us at Mount Saint Bernard RC Cistercian Abbey in Leicestershire for an informal chat.
Those who are interested in exploring to joining our uncloistered Order can apply to our Superior for detailed information:
The Reverend Br Geoff van der Weegen, OCist [Prior]
